George Varney 50 Years

Our History

George Varney (Bulk Services) Ltd was establish in 1975 by George Varney, with origins at Silverstone, until being acquired by the Fred Sherwood group in the early 80’s.

Following a year under new ownership, operations were relocated to our present location of Watford Village on the A5. Throughout the years, this site has been extended to accommodate our growth, and George Varney’s now holds 4 additional operating centers; Banbury, Milton Keynes, Bedford and Shepshed.

From our original roots of moving cereals and animal feed from farm to mill and mill to farm, we now also incorporate a large fleet of over 70 vehicles, with aggregate tipping and walking floor trailers, and 8-wheeler tippers, in order to meet the modern day demand.
